Our Kurdish Team

Khairiya, Sarwet Kurdish Coodinator, Khudeeda, Khairi, Nishtman, and Suhaira

Sarwet Mohammed

Picture
This new role helps coordinate the many DW participants in Toowoomba from the Kurdish Kurmanji community with @NDIS packages. As well as this, Sarwet works as an interpreter for the local Kurdish community. With his invaluable ongoing support and commitment to our team, we are honoured to have such a trusted person within the Kurdish community like Sarwet.
Social inclusion is one of DW Consultancy’s core foundational values and we happily welcome other language groups and relish the opportunity to assist their inclusion into our community. Thank you Sarwet for what you contribute to our team and to the greater local community!

Khairi Khalap

Picture
In 2017, Khairi and his family arrived in Australia as refugees. Early 2016, he was working as a driver with humanitarian organizations. He assisted people who had been liberated from ISIS and living in camps.
Khairi successfully studied and completed a TAFE course in order to continue similar work to his experience overseas. We are so excited to have him as part of the DW Consultancy team and Khairi is very eager to continue supporting the Kurdish Yazidy Community.
This support can look like many tasks including visits and driving these members of the community to anywhere they want to go (including appointments at the Brisbane Hospital) . His assistance is well received in the community mainly due to his bilingual skills in Kurdish Kurmanji. Khairi is so happy to assist his Kurdish Yazidy Community anywhere and anytime and we are both proud and excited have this kind-hearted gentleman on our team!

The DW Deaf Support Team help members of our deaf community as support workers and assisting workplaces with inclusion and integration. They are superheroes and we love having them on team!

Geoff

Picture
Meet Geoff. Geoff is an amazing support worker and has now moved into DW’s Support Coordinator role for the Deaf Community. Geoff is deaf and has always used his brilliant insights and experience to help and support other deaf people in the community.
Geoff worked as a cabinet maker all his life. Now he is 'semi-retired' but stays actively involved in the community. His passion for others has translated to much respect within the deaf community. We are extremely excited to see his wealth of life experience in this coordinator role.
Geoff will coordinate our Deaf participants to work with their NDIS packages to achieve their goals and increase their involvement in our local community.

Our Toowoomba Support Team

Natasha, Jean, Rod, Scout, Kate, Breanna, Jason, Briony, Jody, and Lyn
Toowoomba: famous for beautiful gardens, its temperate climate and of course, our very own DW Support Team! This delightful group of people are from varied and diverse backgrounds, bringing a depth and breadth of experience and knowledge to our community. We are deeply grateful for all you offer!

Jason Quattomani

Picture
Meet support worker Jason.  He is passionate in helping participants set and achieve their goals. One favourite highlight of Jason’s work is taking the moments of retrospect with participants - when a goal that seemed so far away to achieve has become the new reality! He thrives on supporting and working with participants to make the most out of life and bring direction. In his spare time, Jason doesn’t seem to stop moving! An enthusiastic muso, he plays guitar and writes songs. He also plays bass guitar in the St Barts church progressive rock band. Jason’s personal goal is continually working on keeping an open-mind so his heart is always soft. His fitness regime is the very physically intense Muay Thai fighting. Jason also keeps his heart soft and his mind grounded by volunteering for Rosie’s friends on the street. This amazing organisation sets out to feed, listen and guide homeless people to make sound decisions towards a roof over their heads. Jason’s passion for support work drives his hope of making DW consultancy a leading directive in the industry.  We love having his heart and his passion in the DW team!

Briony Sommers

Picture
Meet Briony (everyone calls her Bree). Born in Adelaide, Bree moved to Lockyer Valley/Toowoomba region about 17 years ago.  She has a background in retail, hospitality and the community services area. Family at home looks like her boy/girl twins, 2 cats and 3 chooks, and soon-to-be with her partner.
Bree has been with David Wallis consulting for about 6 months and really enjoys working with NDIS clients. Her favourite part is seeing clients smile when they’ve learnt new tasks and when she can help participants to complete their personal goals.
We are so happy to have Bree and her compassionate heart in the DW Team!

 Jean Ward

Picture
Originally from Brisbane, Jean along with her husband and two amazing teenage daughters have lived in Toowoomba for just over 2 years. She enjoys exploring Toowoomba, especially the many coffee shops, but her favourites are those with a community focus.
Jean has many years background in the Pharmacy industry and also working and studying in the Natural Medicine field. In-between her support work, she is currently studying to be a counsellor. The decision to return to study has made her very happy. She is passionate about helping others, which has led to her current role in the DW team. Jean appreciates the variety of the role and especially being able to support participants to reach their potential, meet their goals and live their life as independently as possible. She sees this role for the privilege it is and finds it very rewarding to be able to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
We are so pleased to have Jean and her positive viewpoint in the DW team!

Candi Smith

Our services in the Western Downs area have grown so much, particularly with NDIS participants. Growing up in Warwick means Candi feels very “at home” in regional areas and her extensive experience in support work means she is more than capable to operate with our increasing support work in the area. We're always grateful for her caring heart and expertise in our team!

Delia Blee

We welcome Delia as our new Coordinator for the South Burnett area. As the need for our support packages has grown in this region, we are so excited and grateful to enrich our team with Delia! With extensive experience in the disability sector, she also holds a fantastic reputation in both the Kingaroy community and local disability sector.
It is also worth the mention that some of us have had the privilege of sampling her delicious cooking – perhaps not essential to her role in the team, but very much appreciated nonetheless! 😊

Julie Ann

Picture
Julie Ann is our Employment Services person. She is our connector between our participants looking for paid work and the small businesses looking for someone who can enrich their workplace. If you know of any small businesses in town looking to employ one of our awesome participants, this is the lady to talk to!
